What is YouTube? Neither fish nor fowl

Which is YouTube? A media publisher or a neutral platform? The same question can be posed for Google, Twitter, FaceBook and other social media platforms.

After Donald Trump's victory, these sites decided that it was time to start politically policing their content -- which is fine for publishers. But if they are publishers, then why should they be able to avail themselves of legal shields afforded to neutral forums?

PragerU found that many of its videos had been deleted by Google/YouTube for political reasons and, as a result, is arguing that these Silicon Valley giants must choose which category they wish to fall under. They cannot both determine content while at the same time avoiding all defamation and libel lawsuits on grounds that they are neutral forums. How can they be neutral if they are deleting content based on political policy?
