Critics wonder why Xi thinks he's another Mao

Chinese biz big Ren Zhiqiang, who has been missing since March 12, is being "investigated" by the Communist Party's disciplinary committee after he publicly lashed Xi Jinping over the bungling of China's response to the deadly outbreak.

Xi has gained a reputation throughout China as a super-authoritarian who brooks no opposition or criticism. It is apparent that Xi is modeling himself on the legendary leader of communism in China, Mao Zedong. But Xi's critics say Mao lived in another era and what may have been appropriate then is out of line now.
