Whistleblower exposes strong bias by Zucker
Sen. Lindsey Graham seen as stooge of Fox News
CNN President Jeffrey Zucker ordered news staff members to "knock off" any good relations with Sen. Lindsey Graham, a supporter of President Trump, and go after the South Carolina Republican for that support.
Zucker blasted Graham for appearing regularly on Fox News, which he castigated as "Fake...Fox News" which was damaging America by peddling conspiracy theories.
"It's time to seriously call out what's going on here," Zucker said.
CNN has long promoted the Trump Russia collusion conspiracy theory.
The disclosure came in a covert recording made by a CNN technician who provided video to Project Veritas, a conservative site known for exposes of liberal institutions.
In the recording, Zucker orders his news staff to focus on impeachment, with journalists getting the message that they were to play that story up daily.
“Jeff Zucker... basically the president of CNN has a personal vendetta against Trump,” says Nick Neville, media coordinator at CNN, in the video. Then, referring to the network’s news coverage, he says, “It’s not going to be positive for Trump. He [Zucker] hates him. He’s going to be negative.”
The former CNN technician, Cary Poarch, is not a news person and so cannot bring a professional eye to the normal situation of news staff joking about and casting aspersions on the boss. Even so, Zucker's statements and the uninhibited reactions of news staff members document that CNN is operating on a get-Trump agenda, even though it was Zucker who helped make Trump a media personality.
