'Whistleblower' worked with top Dem candidate

The "whistleblower" who accused President Trump of impropriety in a talk with a foreign leader is not only a registered Democrat but a Democrat who had previously worked with a "prominent Democratic politician," the intelligence system's inspector general is reported to have said.

Michael Atkinson, the inspector general, said the accuser had volunteered that information, according to Fox News sources.

Attorneys for the whistleblower at the firm Compass Rose did not respond to requests for comment on this work history or on the lack of disclosure about the contact with Rep. Adam Schiff's office. The Calfornia Democrat is seeking to find grounds for the impeachment of Trump in a furor that thus far is strictly partisan.

The Washington Examiner's information is that the accuser had a significant tie to one of the Democratic presidential candidates currently vying to challenge President Trump in next year's election. "The IG said the whistleblower had a professional relationship with one of the 2020 candidates," a knowledgeable source told the Examiner.
